The Tale of Two Cities according to Stephi and Heiko – Part 334We might have mentioned it before, even though I am not sure. Sports are a big thing in Germany, especially football, which is soccer for our American readers. Young people all over the country meet at a young age to play and there are numerous places that you can play. Two possibilities are shown today. The first picture shows a playing field in Munich and I mean a real playing field, where you don’t just play for fun but real games are being played. This is usually a place that is owned by a club and you have to become a member to be eligible to play. You have to go to football practice at least twice a week and have to be good enough to be on a team. Another place you see in the second picture from Cologne. This is a simple playing field in a public place where everyone can play. You simply show up at such a place and if some people are playing you can usually join in. There are no real goals, often no grass and no lines. There are a actually playing fields that are open to the public, almost have the official measurements with real goals. But those are not that common and you usually have playing fields that belong to a club or you have to go to a Boltzplatz. Now, you plays on which kind of field? -- source link
