We were shocked when this senior cat arrived at our shelter on 3/14/17. Hero was nothing but fur and bones – every protuberance of his spinal column could be felt while gently petting him. He barely had the strength to eat, drink and use the litter box. After three months on medication and a high calorie diet, Hero has done amazingly well. He has nearly doubled his weight and regained most of his normal strength. Hero now enjoys hopping out of his enclosure to explore every corner of the shelter while greeting everyone that stops to pet him. We think Hero was born around 2003. He is a handsome, happy boy and he is one of the most affectionate cats in the shelter. Hero would be a wonderful senior companion to someone who could provide a little extra TLC for our sweet boy.
