k-kuja:In the absence of an Assembly at Stormont, Labour MPs Stella Creasy and Conor McGinn are to put forward an amendment to the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation and Exercise of Functions) Bill later this week - which you can read here - in order to change the laws regarding same-sex marriage and abortion, bringing them in line with legislation across the rest of the UK.Same-sex marriage is not legal in Northern Ireland. Abortion, except in the absolute most extreme circumstances, is not legal in Northern Ireland. Please, please, please get in touch with your local MPs and ask them to support the amendment in parliament. Here’s a really easy e-mail tool (with a message template!) that you can use to find your area’s representative and contact them. Please consider sharing this even if you’re not in/from the UK - this isn’t widely talked about and we desperately need to get the word out to find the support we need. -- source link
