theincredibleorca: kohola-kai: king-lobo: thelonelywhale: king-lobo: orcadiz: captive-russian-orcas: Video of Narnia and Nord on slide out: https://instagram.com/p/5knhxJtzlx/ I’ve watched almost all the videos, but this one shocked me.Just..look at this “9 year old” …She is massive, imagine her as a full adult (if she gets to live that much…)I’ve been thinking and…I think it was a BIG mistake to capture a ~6 year old orca. You know, captured orcas were usually 1,2 or 3 years old, they were babies. But a 6 year old orca already KNOWS how to be an orca, knows how to hunt, how to behave, this orca, Narnia, knows about her culture! She was raised in the wild, unlike the current wild caught ones are. I don’t know, I just think it was a big mistake to take a subadult mammal eater orca as the dominant animal in the aquarium.Let’s see how this ends… Honestly, Narnia looks almost the same size as an adult Icelandic female to me when compared side by side with trainers. I think she’s going to be absolutely enormous when she’s fully grown. Look at how she tracks the trainer with her eye as she slides back in… Gave me chills.I really cannot see this situation ending well, for either the animals or the trainers. I also fully anticipate this facility will go to great lengths to try to conceal any incidents or aggression events, especially considering the secrecy involved with these animals from the get-go. It’s all just really really bad. I didn’t notice that before when watching the video…There are just so many things about this that scream “THIS WAS A HORRIBLE IDEA!!!” o__o -- source link
