frustratedasatruar:weneed2quatschen:superunfriendlyreminder: This is an old practice. Heard a story once. There was a man who’d had his house broken into several times and the police wouldn’t/couldn’t do anything about it. So he left his garage open one night, and shot the person who came to steal stuff. Dead.He was arrested for premeditated murder and enticing someone to commit a crime by baiting them.I fail to see the difference between these stories, other than that the police were arresting people and not shooting them (we hope). Notice the easy reference to “Undercovers” in the middle story. That is, Undercover Cops, a concept we don’t spare a second thought. But consider that this is literally the definition of a Secret Police: a Police agency that operates off of spreading a pervasive fear that anyone might be an informant, and you have no way to tell who you can trust. That’s not just something that happens in Nazi Germany or in far off countries. We already do that here, now. This is status quo. -- source link
