“Persimmon in the Kitchen” 8" x 10"oil on hardboard, 2020 I created this little still life study on a whim about a month ago, when I wanted to paint from life but it was too rainy to head outdoors. I had a wonderful time, and have since been really enjoying painting these types of subjects - it’s a great way to experiment with color, form, and composition without the pressure from the elements in Plein Air landscape painting, and a great opportunity to get a better understanding of textures and objects I’ve never approached before. With this in mind, I decided to participate in this year’s @strada.easel month long painting challenge, and am super excited to get started tomorrow!
