Today is the birthday of my dear friend Lily Vonk. To celebrate it, I’ll start a new fall/winter collection with my Barbies, that will probably last until November.Lily has a gorgeous mori style (you can see it here), and I challenged myself to showcase my interpretation of it through my Barbies. Mori is a very feminine style, has earthly and subdued tones and uses lots of lace, so I had to customize quite a few pieces. I did a lot of sewing and it was super fun.Also, doing my research for inspiration, I realized that the vast majority of the mori girls were white or asian. Since my Barbies are all black or mixed race (and I’m a mixed race woman myself), I thought that it would be nice to show something different. I love fashion, and I think it is all about experimenting new things and trying to find your own way to express yourself.Happy birthday Lily! That’s all for you! ❤ -- source link
