lubeisfortheweak:tsundereslasher:brolinskeep:colin-bradley:ROADTRIP TALKBradley: It was a show we did when we both had a week where we drove through Wales. The show was produced by BBC Wales, which meant that we could only search through Wales for these traces of the Arthurian legend. The problem with that is there is not much trace of the Arthurian legend in Wales. It’s kind of in Cornwall and Somerset, and what is known as the West Country in England. But we couldn’t go there because it was funded by BBC Wales, and there’s perhaps maybe an heir of propaganda about it! Everyone is very proud of the myth and likes to hold on to it for themselves. So we found ourselves driving around Wales, not finding anything, but having quite a good time doing it. There’s some beautiful Welsh countryside out there, and we basically just had a road trip through Wales, and it was a good excuse for one. And we had a laugh doing it. Unfortunately, I don’t think we educated anybody, whatsoever, with regards to the Arthurian legend, because we didn’t go anywhere that you could discover anything. I don’t know, it would be nice to actually go do one that was the case of going places that actually had some significance when it comes to the legend. But it was great fun, and we had a lot of fun doing it. I think it only went out in Wales, over here actually. Again it was a BBC Wales show, and it had a very specific audience. But it will live on in the memories for me, it was a good few days.- SourceColin: That was great! I think part of the bonus was that we were seeing parts of Wales that we’d never seen before. But it was connected to our job basically. We were visiting sites where Arthur had supposedly had his last battle, and where he fell. We visited Arthur’s birth place, and the possible hometown of Merlin. It was just amazing, especially certain errors that haven’t really changed in 100 years. When you were standing, looking out at the landscape, you just felt like if Arthur and Merlin had existed, the real ones, were they standing there looking out at the same place we are now. It was just quite an experience. We didn’t get a definitive answer as to if there was a real answer. But it was fun, none the less.- SourceBut it was fun, none the less. -- source link
