We renovated the porch floor in June. It was covered in decades-old outdoor carpet, but had an intact subfloor below it. We set out to find a hard wood, but unfortunately logistics made pine the only option. (Not the best choice, but we went with it). After acquiring wood and renting a flooring nail gun and chop saw in Kingston—not without its own trials—we got to work. After laying the pine floor boards, then realized the doors from the living room to the sunroom wouldn’t open because of the additional height that they had to clear. We shaved space off the bottom of the doors, then at last painted the boards with light grey porch paint. We’ll have to see how the floors hold up to moisture, humidity, and the seasons, but so far, it’s a huge improvement. -- source link
