Yesterday I went on a free walking tour with a company called Can You Handle It? I didn’t realize the tour was going to focus on the movie In Bruges, which several people recommended I watch before going on this trip, but I never did. Oops. Still, it was a great tour, mostly because of the fun people and the food and drink–we sampled chocolate and frites, ate waffles and drank Belgian beer. All of it was complimentary, although a tip was expected and lobbied for pretty hard at the end, and I don’t begrudge them that. We also got to see adorable and world-famous Fidel in his window, looking out at his adoring fans :) I’d definitely recommend the tour, both as a fun introduction to the city and a way to meet other solo travelers. I met a few great ladies that I ended up hanging out with the rest of the day. The company has tours in other Belgian cities so I’ll probably look them up again. In the meantime, I’ve got to figure out whether I can fit all the chocolate I bought yesterday in my luggage or whether I’ll have to eat it all ;) Tour company: http://cyhitours.com/ -- source link
