I designed a shirt for Kusogrande, featuring some of our favorite friends from the esteemed Toobin’ Bin! Kusogrande is a bad video game tournament, now in its sixth year, and this year, I’ve been a GM! We make competitors play through the worst of the worst games that they’ve never seen before, and the players who make the most progress in one-hour matches advance. It’s a lot of fun for everyone, and the most inclusive and welcoming streaming community I’ve been part of.The “Toobin’ bin” is our colloquial destination for the games that were too bad for the tournament, because they were so buggy or otherwise untrackable that no fair result could be determined, causing the match to be voided and the game to be banned from the tournament– and those have been some very special matches. This art features nods to Wild Science Arcade (DOS), Wolfchild (SNES), Kang Fu (Amiga), and of course the titular Toobin’ (GBC), as well as the Kusogrande mascot, Krappy the K.The tournament runs for most of the year, and right now, we’re about halfway through and about to start round 4, after which we’ll be onto bracket matches among the top 32 competitors.
