Hiraeth Creature #1163 - HesroveLinked Creatrue: #658 - Vosvogora“Generations ago, Hiraeth was plunged into a living nightmare known as the Giant’s March. The world’s strongest and largest cities were swept away by gargantuan figures who dominated the horizon, their onslaught forcing all of creation to tremble. Records of this time are hazy, and much more was lost in the destruction predating the March, but amongst these tales is one many choose to disregard— the ghastly image of giants who would ride on beasts, trampling armies and buildings in their charge. Many have deemed this either flowery writings or delusions of folk scared for their lives. The idea that giants were cunning enough to rally other beasts or that there was a beast large enough to support one is a preposterous notion to many. Enter the Hesrove, a titan among behemoths, not seen outside the Land of Giants for many years. From their great swooping neck lined with eyes, they see across the vast, primordial fields of their homeland, searching for ancient treetops to graze on and wary of the numerous predators who haunt their realm. At night, they reach their heads upwards and sing along with the Moon Goddess as she descends over the land. Being amongst the largest beasts in the world, they can easily reach to her and receive her divine caress. While Hesrove appear gentle, they have a more violent and adversarial side when called upon. Hesrove have an evolutionary pact with the Vosvogora giants, and when the time for battle comes, the knightly giants will call for them. While the Hesrove have both brute force and incredible speed, the Vosvogora have celestial magic, able to form weapons from starlight. Together, they become a formidable dragoon raging across the land. After their battles, the two part ways for a time, each respecting the other’s way of life. As a Vosvogora channels their magic upon a Hesrove, the Hesrove also begins gaining enhanced celestial powers, augmenting their already immense physical strength and prowess. While this bond helped the Hesrove defend themselves from the realms most fearsome giants, it also made them susceptible to the whims of the Ravenous Beast, who bore the giants from her ichor. During her awakening some Hesrove also became bewitched, and together with their riders became one of the most harrowing forces the world had ever seen, and one it wished to forget entirely.” -- source link
