Drift Compatible - Jaeger Concept by 990031Someone finally watched Pacific Rim with me omg. I know, I suck. I’ve been meaning to but it came out while I was in college still.SO NATURALLY THIS MEANS I NEEDED TO MAKE A JAEGER, YES?It’s been so many years since I designed a giant robot so, apologies for the lopsidedness. About the jaeger itself: the piece behind it actually comes up and over the head like a hood and creates an additional shield. With both pilots in the head piece it always seemed weird there wasn’t more protection on them, so it made more sense to add the additional precaution. It’s razors on it’s left arm actually spin. Not for the sake of creating a rotating razor but to actually accumulate enough inertia to embed the razors for better ease of holding on while fighting. My jaeger pilot, Christopher Patel, is the son of two Indian immigrants who came to America at a young age. And his partner, Christine Faust (belongs to CarelessWhim), is from Germany. They are both used to the nickname “Chris” and people instead call Christopher “Chrissy” for differentiation. He’s never particularly amused. The two of them were penpals growing up as children in two different countries. When Christopher graduated college with a Physics and Engineering degree he was recruited for research in Kaiju activity and jaeger improvement, and the job took him to Germany where he finally met Christine for the first time in person after having spent almost 20 years writing letters back and forth. Christine was part of the jaeger reborn faction, and upon entering the system as a pilot she needed a co-pilot. After much trial and error, she jokingly suggested Christopher. But as it happens, they knew each other so well and taught each other so much over the years they were drift compatible. The jaeger was designed to resemble a bit of a shark and named Saltwater Siren, given that for so many years the ocean was what separated them and now it seemed appropriate to unite them. Other pilots jokingly call the Saltwater Siren “Sharknado” or “Jaws”. The jaeger is from Germany, the first one to be made in the land where the term jaeger originated. Not sure if I’ll ever go anywhere with this I just wanted the fun in making one. LOL -- source link
