Back in August of 2019 we learned that my oldest brother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He was going in for treatment but eventually it was decided in February to discontinue his treatment and prepare for hospice care. For a little over 3 weeks Mary and I were able to provide a place of comfort in our home where he was able to have regular visits from family. We’re extremely thankful for all of the nurses who would visit daily and would come by at any hour whenever something new would come up because he was in constant pain. Many of our nights were spent with little to no sleep taking care of him, but I’m thankful of that time we were able to spend with him. He passed away in the morning on March 3rd. It was surreal watching his health decline day by day over those few weeks, but I’m glad I could be there for him just like how he would always show up when we needed him.
