Southern California Shoulderband (Helminthoglypta tudiculata)Like many other species of Shoulderband
Southern California Shoulderband (Helminthoglypta tudiculata)Like many other species of Shoulderbands (Helminthoglypta sp.), the Southern California Shoulderband is endangered from habitat loss. As its name suggests, this large snail is found in Southern California, especially in San Diego and Los Angeles counties. It lives in habitats that are undisturbed by humans and away from urban development. People hoping to spot these snails might get lucky and see one or two on a cool, wet day in a park containing natural chaparral habitat. Just make sure that if you do manage to find one you leave them be so they can continue to populate the area.(This drawing is based off of a live snail I found. It was eating something on the ground, so that’s what this one is doing too.)Etsy | DeviantArt | Instagram -- source link
