Asian Tramp Snail (Bradybaena similaris)The Asian Tramp Snail is a small snail originally native to Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, it has become a very common invasive species worldwide, migrating to places such as Eastern Australia, Brazil, and some of the states in the United States, such as Florida and Texas. This spread has been attributed to the global plant trade as well as the fact that the snail often hitches rides on freight containers. One of the easiest ways to identify this snail is the presence of a single reddish-brown band on the shell (but it should be mentioned that some individuals may lack the band). This snail is considered to be a serious agricultural threat because it has the tendency to eat a wide variety of economically important crops. Most concerning is this snail’s refusal to eat dead or decaying plant matter like many other snails would normally do. The Asian Tramp Snail will only eat living plants.Etsy | DeviantArt | Instagram -- source link
