t-funster:Like many people, I disliked the epilogue. It’s hard to connect with characters you grew up with (and aged similarly) jumping from late teenagehood to traditional marriage with children and stable jobs. I guess I had another image in mind: Harry, a couple years after the war, paying weekly visits to Privet Drive to talk to Petunia, mirroring in some ways the beginning of the first book. Once, he dreaded that place, but now he wants to know more of his aunt, and she realizes how bad they were to him. And, like this, Harry steps into his new life, forgives her, and slowly sees Petunia being able to forgive both Lily and herself. -- source link
