cosmonauthill: (Pray4Niamh that the link works this time) There’s a lot of talk about how hard it can be to find community in fandom nowadays, and most of us who write fic know how difficult it can be to find other writers. Well, I say we try and find a solution for that. What’s up, Doc? is a Discord server aimed at fanfic writers who want more eyes on their work, before and after posting. We aim to provide a friendly, comfortable environment where people feel able to talk about their work from the first idle thought right through to the final chapter hitting AO3. We hope to do this by bringing together a mix of people, across fandom and wordcount and experience, who are all interested in helping one another become the best writers possible. We want to bring people together with beta readers, SPAG-checkers, and answers to those questions too niche to Google. We also hope over time to introduce some games and challenges, and to offer support to anyone taking part in exchanges! For now, though, we just want to offer a friendly, constructive place for people to talk through their stories and to seek help they can’t find on tumblr. Emphasis on friendly and constructive. You can drop any questions my way either on tumblr @cosmonauthill, or on Discord @niamhisatwit#3105. My inbox is always open! Please reblog to spread the word! Click here to join! -- source link
