Aswang follows a group of people whose lives get caught up with the growing violence during two years of killings in Manila. “I was feeling everything very raw. For instance, I was filming in a crime scene and then I was filming with a lot of TV people, and there was this woman who I suddenly heard, because I was the only one monitoring sound, I suddenly heard a woman praying very low. And I looked for this woman and I found her and she was praying that it was not her daughter that was dead on the street.
