mattjabbar:The movie has been released this weekend so I can add it to my work history:Most of the work I did in the studio previous year was backgrounds for the new cinema-length animated movie “The Case of Hana & Alice” (花とアリス殺人事件 Hana to Alice Satsujin Jiken) written and directed by Shunji Iwai.The backgrounds where based on photos but we had to do a lot of editing, and matte painting before using them as a base for watercolour-like final pictures. Also some scenes required the backgrounds to be painted from scratch (for example I painted the ballet class based only on some references from the previous movie).
