myhauntedsalem: In the 1970s, the Dandy family moved into a house that would later be known as the Hinsdale House. The family began to notice strange activity occurring after they moved in. They received phantom phone calls, and odd chanting from the nearby forest. The activity escalated, and the family experienced things being thrown, a full body apparition of a woman in white, and odd demonic creatures. The Dandy’s had one frightening encounter,where people were looking in through the window at them, when Mr. Dandy went out to confront them, the creepers weren’t outside, but rather looking down at him though the upstairs window. At their wits end, the family contacted Father Alphonsus, from a local catholic university, to preform an exorcism. The house became very active during the events, and there was a sense of evil, flickering lights, and loud banging. The exorcism only made the activity worse, and the family moved out. In the year 2000, Clara Miller Dandy, published a book called Echoes of a Haunting, which documents the family’s experience. The house was also featured on the show Paranormal Lockdown, and is now abandoned. -- source link
