I was Chit-chatting with @ruikosakuragi about a Pride and Prejudice FMA AU and she wrote the following and i doodled the above pic———–The stroll around the room ceased with a teasing remark by Hughes’ younger sister: that the great Mr Mustang was not to be trifled with, that he had not one glaring fault in him. And Riza wasn’t sure she should have been surprised at all with such observation. The man had only shown contempt and condescension, caring little about others and their opinions, dusting off their conversations as though he’d heard enough triviality to last a lifetime. Everyone was beneath Roy Mustang.“Are you too proud, Mr Mustang?” Riza asked, lifting her chin a little higher to counter his obvious scrutiny of her. “And would you consider pride a fault or a virtue?”  “That I couldn’t say,” he answered curtly.  “Because we’re doing our best to find fault in you,” she smiled. And she smiled because she felt as if she’d taken his next words out of his mouth, marveling in the way his silence sculpted him a better man.  Though it was only for a moment.  His black gaze rose to meet hers. It was intense, imposing, and every ounce of it an anchor in his reply, “Maybe it’s that I find it hard to forgive the follies and vices of others, or their offenses against me. My good opinion, once lost, is lost forever.”  And a smile sailed across her lips once more, though this time it was in utter defeat. “Oh dear,” she confessed, “I cannot tease you about that.” -- source link
