zine-scene: vintagerpg: The thing I love about RPG zines is that they allow folks to make stuff that doesn’t fit elsewhere. Do we need a whole book on horrible bugs for RPG games? I mean, maybe, but that is going to be a niche publication. But a zine? That’s cheaper, shorter, doesn’t overstay its welcome. And, if it is put out by Games Omnivorous, you know it is going to be lovingly designed and printed. For real, every single Games Omnivorous thing I own is just pure delight on a “production of books” level. They feel good, they have delicious designs, just a total aesthetic treat. The Insectiary is a system agnostic collection of nasty bugs. Andre Novoa does the words, Pipo Kimkiduk does the (ghastly in a good way) illustrations. The whole thing is in eye-smacking red and yellow. Every illustration has a little magnifying glass icon and a percentage, to let you know how small the bugs are. All the words tell you how awful the bugs are. A perfect zine, giving you exactly what it says it will for 40 pages, then letting you get on with your day. https://gamesomnivorous.com/collections/random-psych-weirdness -- source link
