bluinary: Eremika Week | Day 3 | Honeymoon/ Protection It’s sticky, humid in the beach house, and although Eren is sure the love of his life isn’t helping, he can’t bring himself to make her move from her head from its rest on his leg.It’s been some hours since they first left the airport, and even more time since the closing of their reception, but it is now, in this moment, that Eren can feel it beginning. His heart swells to impossible vastness in his chest, moving his fingers to trace the damp strands of her hair falling over onto the edge of the bed. Heat threatens against the backs of his eyes, but he refuses to let his vision blur. He wants to note this moment with total clarity, to savor it and lock it away for times in his life when he may need that extra dose of warmth. He wants to remember exactly how she looks right now, curled up at his side with her cheeks flushed beneath sweeping lashes, the lightest of smiles gracing her lips.“It’s starting,” he whispers to himself, releasing the heaviness in his throat with a grin. “What’s starting?” she asks, eyes fluttering open to look at him.He is somewhat startled to hear her reply, but he answers her nonetheless. “The real adventure,” he says. “The rest of our lives.”Mikasa’s smile widens against his leg. She inhales deeply, exhales loudly. Clutching his fingertips and closing her eyes once more, she says, “Then let’s begin on a good note, Mr. Ackerman.”Eren kisses her fingers, then her wrist, then her shoulder, then her neck.
