archiemcphee:We’ve featured all sorts of amazing origami creations over the years, but this may be the first time we’ve seen a life-size origami representation of an enormous animal.Professional origami artist Sipho Mabona folded a single sheet of 50 x 50ft (15 x 15m) paper to create his awesome White Elephant. After raising funds for the project via Indiegogo, Mabona and a team over a dozen people spent four weeks working on the life-size paper pachyderm. The piece of paper was so large that it sometimes took up to ten people to help lift it and create a fold. A webcam was set up to enable people to watch the beautiful White Elephant take shape. The finished piece stands just over 10 feet (3 meters) tall and is currently on display at the KKLB art museum in Beromünster, Switzerland. For all its impressive size, the pale textured paper gives Mabona’s awesome White Elephant a ghostly appearance.[via My Modern Metropolis] -- source link
