abodyinthegarden:lambs-bee:kakumei-no-tomoshibi:mswyrr:tighlon:potofsoup:secretlesbians:Lesbian pulp covers from the 1950s and 60s. Shocking! Twisted! Tormented! Passionate! RAGING NEEDSThat “Women’s Barracks” one thoI love a good gal pal storyHER RAGING NEEDS“Women’s Barracks” was the book that launched the lesbian pulp genre and is actually a super interesting read. It had to be advertised as some kind of scandalous pornish novel because that was your only option back then if you wanted to publish a lesbian novel (it was in fact banned for its lesbian content in several countries, is not like it was a total lie… still became a massive best-seller, though) but it’s really freaking cool if you are into lesbian lit or lesbian history: “…this account of life among female Free French soldiers in a London barracks during World War II. The novel is based on the real-life experiences of the author, Tereska Torres, who escaped from occupied France. She arrived as a refugee in London and joined other exiles enlisting in Charles de Gaulle’s army, then stationed in Britain awaiting an invasion of their homeland by Allied forces.“Take a look at the damn thing if you can. And this one is not the only one. The covers, titles and the way they were advertised are freaking hilarious and I will co-sign any day, but some of these were actually amazing books (for example, The Price of Salt AKA Carol, which is now a movie you should all be salivating about).abodyinthegardenEVERYTHING I LOVE YES -- source link
