gunrunnerhell: 54R Comparison… A rough side by side comparison of the Romanian PSL-54 and Russian VEPR 7.62x54R. Both rifles are chambered in 7.62x54R like the Mosin Nagant 91/30 and SVD. The PSL is slightly modified with polymer furniture and a what I think is a Tabuk-style flash hider instead of the “honeycomb” muzzle brake. The VEPR also has aftermarket handguards, those aren’t the stock versions. One important thing to note is that the VEPR is single stack with a 5 round magazine, whereas the PSL is a 10 rounder. I’ve got a PSL coming in soon, but I’ll buy a VEPR later. -- source link
