The girliest thing about me is that I am obsessed with makeup. I love to experiment, but I think most girls can agree that it’s hard to find products that we truly love and feel comfortable recommending to others. Since a lot of you have been submitting questions asking what products I use, I decided to write a blog about all of my favorites. 1. ALMAY Smart Mousse Foundation ;; Light/Medium I have very sensitive skin. I’ve spent years experimenting with different foundations, from airbrush to liquid and everything in between. None of them worked - in fact, they only irritated my skin and made me break out, causing me to put on even more foundation. If you’re like me, I hate wearing too much face makeup. I feel like my skin can’t breathe and I’m always paranoid that my face won’t match my neck or chest if I put too much on. Plus, I have lots of little freckles on my face that pop out in the summer and I hate covering them up! It was just so difficult to find a product that would even my tone, let my skin breathe, and STILL allow my face to be…. well, my face. Freckles and all! I’ve tried all sorts of expensive products that promised me incredible results, but nothing has worked quite like ALMAY’s Smart Mousse Foundation. Why do I love it? First, there are only 4 different shades to choose from - Light, Light/Medium, Medium, and Medium/Deep. I always hated going to the store and trying to match my color to a bottle or powder for 30 minutes because there were too many options and I would be afraid of choosing the wrong one. ALMAY made it really easy for me to pick out a shade and feel confident about it. Second, it creates a soft, even look that’s natural. It almost feels like you have nothing on, which I adore. The only thing that really threw me off when I first started using it was that it goes on white, but as you blend it into your skin… it transforms to your shade. It’s magic! 2. MAC Cosmetics Sheertone Shimmer Blush ;; Springsheen I absolutely adore this blush. I’ve always had to purchase two separate shades, one for winter and one for summer - the winter blush was too light for summer and the summer blush was always too dark for winter. But when I discovered Springsheen, I instantly fell in love with it. The shade is perfect for me, for all seasons. Obviously, if you are fair skinned, this may not be the blush for you. But if you are like me, and have an even olive complexion, I would suggest giving Springsheen a try. 3. Hard Candy Top Ten Eyeshadow ;; Naturally Gorgeous This palette is perfect for everyone. I stumbled upon it while I was searching for my mascara (#6) and I was so excited to try it. I absolutely love Urban Decay’s Naked Palette, but it just seemed too expensive for me, so I figured I would have to buy a few trio’s at the drugstore and just mix and match until I came close to what I wanted. Then I found this! I wasn’t completely convinced it would work (most drugstore eyeshadows have very strange consistency and don’t stay on for very long,) but it didn’t take long for me to fall in love. It’s light to dark spectrum is all very natural and even has a touch of shimmer. It goes on light and subtle, but if you want a more drastic and dark look… it also offers that as well. And it’s only $6! Plus, they don’t test on animals. 4. Sephora Eyeshadow ;; Precious Gem I typically use Precious Gem when going out to bars or dimly lit places. It’s a great color to blend in with a smokey eye. It’s also good for lining your eyes if you don’t want to go too drastic with black. 5. Tarte Clay Waterproof Eyeliner ;; Black Where do I even start? This eyeliner is perfection. It stays on all day, never smudges or creases, and it even comes with a free eyeliner brush. It’s clay, so it has a bit of a matte finish instead of the shiny liquid eyeliners I used to buy. If you love a good cat eye, DEFINITELY try this liner. 6. Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara ;; Very Black I will never use another mascara. It doesn’t clump, gives my lashes some serious length, AND separates them to make them look a little fuller. The only problem I have with this mascara is that the packaging on the regular and the waterproof are VERY similar. Be careful not to buy the waterproof kind. Those typically tear your lashes out and can be really hard on your eyes. 7. Too Faced Glamour Dust ;; Glampire I love all things glitter. And although I can appreciate a good dramatic look, this glitter dust is very subtle and just adds a little bit of shine to your eyeshadow. It also stays wherever you put it, which is really nice considering glitter can typically have a mind of it’s own. 8. LUSH Cosmetics Lip Scrub ;; Mint Julips I love EVERYTHING that Lush puts out - including their mission to stop animal testing, but this lip scrub is probably one of my top 5 favorites. It isn’t too harsh on my skin and it leaves my lips really smooth with a “just bitten” look. Plus, it tastes like a chocolate mint. Follow it up with Lush’s Honey Trap lip balm and your lips will feel so refreshed. 9. MAC Cosmetics Lipstick ;; Hot Gossip This is my “go to” lipstick for all occasions. It’s best described as a pink, plum color. I’m not much of a girly girl, so the thought of pink anything turns me off. But I absolutely love it! Again, if you are fair skinned… this may be a bit too bold for you, but I’ve come to find that it looks good on most skin tones. It’s a cremesheen formula, so it applies very smooth and has a bit of moisturizer to it as well. 10. MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skin Finish ;; Lightscapade Words can’t describe how happy I am that MAC brought back their Lighstcapade Skin Finish. It’s one of my favorite products MAC has ever released. I brush it along my cheek bones as a final shimmery touch before going anywhere. It brightens up your skin and gives it a beautiful glow. Perfect for all skin tones. {Only available online} You can buy any of these products on Amazon. Hope this helps! xoxo -- source link
