kuzumori:Commission - LUNA I’ve dabbled with an artist showcase in the past, but now I want to be more consistent with it. Always under the false assumption that everybody is already well aware of the awesome art that I see, I’ve not put much effort into showing artwork that I feel needs extra appreciation. Overriding this impulse, I’m going to show the occasional piece and my thought of why they are especially wonderful in my eyes.More below the break. I haven’t encountered Kuzumori personally. If I recall correctly, I came across their work by casual browsing. Their work, to me, reflects an origin in traditional art that they’ve taken into their identity. I’m sure this is digital but I find myself getting lost in the slightly faded watercolors along with the soft brushstrokes. It’s all very flowing and allows some natural shades that gives Luna here a sort of ethereal presence. Flowing like water against an uncharacteristically red moon that contrasts well with Luna’s blue.Kuzumori also has this way of drawing eyes that seem to pierce those of the viewer. A touch of stark reflecting brightness to indicate life and intention.I almost didn’t want to showcase this piece for one glaring reason: the watermark. I understand it allows some security for artists to prevent those who might take the art elsewhere and attempt to profit, but it also feels punishing for those who want to enjoy the work. It really is their choice. Please enjoy this wonderful Luna, watermark or no. -- source link
