Being startled awake at 3 am isn’t the most pleasant experience. I have a shadow box I made a long time ago hanging on my wall, and from time to time the frame likes to detach itself. It generally likes to do so in the middle of the night. Thankfully, the glass broke during it’s prior plunge from the wall, so last night was just a loud crash of a piece of wood tumbling down, freeing it’s harbored guests from it’s hold. When I woke this morning, a few of the roses from within the box had landed on a vintage apron and looked rather peaceful in the diffused morning haze. I’m glad they were able to rest well for a night before I box them back up, though next time they wish to escape, I hope they do me the courtesy of at least not waking me with a gasp and pounding heart.
