ayominho: koyategoftw: graphicabyss: Many people seemed to find Ikiro PV touching and impressive but I have to be honest wit you - the only thing I find impressive is how fucking low the budget was. What, a roll of cables and a Christmas decoration? Tegoshi asked if he needed to look at the camera and was a little disappointed when he was told he didn’t. “I love looking at the camera”. We noticed, dipshit. Also, was the hat guy really needed here tbh? Did he tell them how to tug the threads dramatically? I noticed the low-budget production style since LPS. The pv is almost only pretty because my favorite 4 people are in it. NEWS income for the first half of 2018 is fucking 1.89 billion yen and a famous youtuber can make better mvs for them than their studio. Look at Banger Night? Look at just any random other JE bands? Not to mention they don’t bother to print enough copies or make enough goods for the first-week sales. I don’t understand this treatment like, at all. Are they under some king of trials I don’t know of? low budget videos have been part of their treatment by JE since forever in my opinion. the one that stands out most in my mind is Sakura Girl, but then there is also Summer Time, Happy Birthday, etc., and that was back when Yamapi and Ryo were still around. let’s also not forget their 15-year anniversary live seemed rushed as hell. I like to think JE has put more $$$ into their music as of late, as (in my opinion) a lot of their music since about 2017 and EMMA has better production than a lot of their 4-nin music before then. however, I was in Japan when they started selling their 15-year goods at the Johnny’s shop. the lines were insane and I tried to go in both Osaka and Tokyo on multiple days. people were buying the max 5 of the towels and t-shirts, and the response was so great that the second day JE announced they would take mail orders. i barely made it into the store, and it took me SIX HOURS from the time I arrived at the Harajuku shop until I left with my goods. it was very heartwarming to see–I honestly did not think they were that popular but people absolutely turned up to support them. then again, if all of the people who turned up to the store to buy the goods also bought their CDs, then maybe they’d get better budget videos….. Some good news, thank you. I hope after Ikiro they will be allowed better budget and also possibly 3 singles a year. -- source link
