Watched a lot (but not all) of Mike Flanagan’s work this year– not sure how I feel about all that– liked some of it; other stuff, I don’t know about. But him announcing he’s working with Robert Longstreet again on his Edgar Allen Poe show? That’s a “the boys are back in town” for me. He shouldn’t work without Longstreet– Flanagan’s wife is probably his Deniro, obviously, but I always just feel pretty good about things when that Longstreet guy’s on screen in the Flanagan stuff I’ve seen. Longstreet’s always just like “I’m just very emotional actually! Here is my extremely long monologue about my emotions”, you know, like every single Flanafamily character, ever, that is every character, these people won’t stop doing monologues. But with Longstreet, I’m just into it more than most of the other dudes. (I think Flanagan’s generally better with actresses, though Midnight Mass was an improvement on things at least, with Rahul Kohli). -- source link
