create-inme: This morning as I was going to take a shower my mother jokingly said to me, “Hey, Pie. Do you want to borrowmy razor? It’s getting hot out, maybe you can shave off your extra fur.” And by her saying that not only did it amuse here but everyone in the house. So I accepted the razor and went to take a shower. As I was standing with the water washing over my body I decided against shaving. No. No, I won’t. I won’t conform into what they believe to be the “norm”. I know I probably post about this issue a lot but it’s something really close to my heart. It has taken a lot of strength and self love to not be effected by the opinions of others, especially my family. To realize how beautiful I am. I am half Italian. I embrace the hair that my body blossoms. There isn’t a part of my body that isn’t a work of art. I chose to not shave. And that is okay. It is okay /to/ choose to shave. But stop the hate, stop the stigma that in order for women to be beautiful/desirable we have to be shaven. *thumbs up* -- source link
