kimononagoya: http://www.japanesestreets.com/photoblog/3086/jotaro-saito-sansai-saito-s-s-2015 There’s a lot of really interesting things happening in the Jotaro Saito Kimono fashion show. Combining the popular Ombrage from a few years ago, a lot of bird motifs and the current autumn as well as a lot of storm colours, we’re seeing an almost direct contrast to the popular pop-art colour block trend by Modern Antenna and Mamechiyo who have settled comfortable in brighter more youthful candy colour paletts and to some extent are/have been completely avoiding the ‘fashion-world’ trends. Interesting stuff. It’s very typical of Saitou’s shows (The last three or four that we’ve been following over the years) to feature a LOT of grey/slate-colours and this year was no exception. There was a lot of grey and a bit of autumn colours from this year’s fashion-palette. We’ll have more of the various outfits once Halloween is over but here is one of the more youthful and interesting sets. So interesting, it comes in both ladies and hommes! Planets, stars(another popular motif this year in the collection) airplanes, clouds and landmasses which as far as I know have no real seasonal association except cool and trendy. Only a vague difference in the warmth of the grey and the use of Brown for men (always brown.sigh) and a bright saturated blue Obi, because women are allowed to have colourful things. Also in this show keep an eye out for the linings. Again Saitou puts work into that little negligible walking-flash and there’s some cute surprises! -- source link
