rbzpr:Robespierre (Anthony Pascal)Some months ago, I have posted some images from the promising trailer of the animated movie Robespierre by Anthony Pascal. I have tracked its progress on the blog of the artist, and it seemed very promising; the full movie was published on 20 December, and I just watched it. It is around 90 minutes long, and I am amazed: the art is wonderful, and the artist seems to have done extensive research, since every building, person and location seems historically accurate. The narrative is thrilling, and from what I can tell, it is accurate in most parts (although it includes some dubious anecdotes regarding Danton & Thermidor etc). The movie follows Robespierre from the opening of the Estates-General until his execution on 10 Thermidor, and also included flashbacks on Robespierre’s childhood. Compared to other movies on the Revolution, it is incredibly accurate regarding historical facts etc, although it is certainly not perfect. Overall, it is a favourable representation of Robespierre, which makes me really happy!Take a look at it, citizens! -- source link
