Hotel BathroomMy husband just recently got out of the Marine Corps. Because of this, we could no longer afford to live in California, and thus decided to do a DITY (Do it Yourself) move from one side of the country to the other where our families live. For clarification, when you do a DITY move, the Corps allots you an advance for your trip per day (our move took 7), usually just enough for food and a three star hotel for the night.Because we wanted to make the most of this move and the trip, we decided on the first night that we would stay in Vegas for two days, and drive through the night at some point to make up for lost time. On the fourth morning of our trip, we arrived at a hotel that was…less than savory, but it was clean enough, we were tired, and just wanted to get out of the fucking car. After a short nap, my husband decided he wanted breakfast. I tell him if he can wait for me to shower, I’d be more than willing to go. I’m thrilled that the bathroom can be closed off to the rest of the room with the first door opening to the sink and electric outlets. This way I wouldn’t disturb my husband when I’d be drying my hair in the morning before we left. The “sink-room” then has another door that opens to the toilet and bathtub. To my enjoyment, I discovered a small window in the bathroom. I love showering with the windows open! The cool air mixing with the hot steam has always been one of life’s little pleasantries to me. As I stepped into the shower though, I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching me. I looked up to the window, and saw nothing but the bright blue sky and early morning sun. It was an unsettling feeling, but I chalked it up to the stress and fatigue from the trip. When we got back from breakfast, we watched some TV, and napped some more. I decided after the nap that I would walk around the hotel to see if it was possible for any peeping toms to look into our bathroom. I discovered the window was about ten feet from the ground—obviously high enough for no one to see into without the help of a stool or garbage can or something of the like. But there was nothing behind the hotel except the dumpsters and random debris.I went back inside to pee, satisfied that no one could see me doing my business. Because I’ve never liked tight spaces, I shut the first door to the bathroom, but not the second. As I was finishing up, the bathroom door started to shut as though a breeze had caught it. It stopped when it was about half shut, then SLAMMED in my face. This set my heart into panic mode, but when I remembered I had left the window open from my shower, my blood pressure returned to normal. I shut the window though to insure I didn’t suffer another damn panic attack. However, I couldn’t shake that eerie feeling like a presence was near me.When the sun started to set, the two of us decided it was dinner time. We headed out to a pub, and my husband got a little rowdy, knocking my drink all over me. We went back to the hotel, and I stripped down for another shower. Before I could even get my bra off, that same feeling overwhelmed me, so I decided to keep both doors to the bathroom open. Then, I saw it—an ever so slight breeze that made the shower curtain sway. But…the. window. was. shut. I turned around to run back into the bedroom, and both the doors to the bathroom shut and locked. The lights flickered for a moment before going dark. I started screaming my husband’s name as I felt hot, rotten breath on the back of my neck. As someone (or something) put their hand on my shoulder, my husband opened the door, and in that instant, the lights came back on. I crumbled into his arms, shrieking and crying. I don’t know if he believes me about the events that happened that day, but we hightailed it the fuck out of there that night. -- source link
