The Briar Rose [triptych, centre panel] (1905). Walter Crane (English, 1845-1915). Tempera on panel. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow.Briar Rose, or The Sleeping Beauty, was exhibited at the Tempera Society exhibition of 1905. It is a triptych showing the story of the sleeping beauty. Crane designed and decorated the frame. A contemporary reviewer wrote it “gleams within and without with gilding and colour, the painting being executed with Vibert’s oil of egg medium.” -- source link
