fehfwert:millenniumfae:oldlace:He is my match. ↪ THE UNTAMED (2019)《陈情令》This is a very popular historical fantasy serial, originally an online novel that was adapted into a manhua, podcast, and then finally a live-action show. It features two married warriors, both men, as they battle mysteries and conspiracies. China wouldn’t have allowed the tv adaptation to exist without censoring the queer relationship between the male characters, but this show still contains much of the original romance while careful to keep it ‘subtle’. It’s a mark of progress for China to even allow that much.Historically, China has many records of men and women going through union ceremonies amongst themselves, but marriage has never been recognized by government.
