youngjusticer:Symbiosis marks the existence of Meganium throughout its entire life cycle. Meganium could be seen as a mobile ecosystem, possessing the rare ability to produce sustenance through photosynthesis, which is normally an exclusivity to plant species. During photosynthesis, plants synthesize glucose from sunlight. Meganium does this at a cellular level, causing its scales to shed at a higher rate than other reptilian species and generating a gaseous cloud of heat. Plants in close proximity benefit from this wave of energy. In sharing the surplus nourishment that it creates, Meganium promotes health in the plants that they also consume. By assisting plants to grow or repair themselves, a whole host of other creatures benefit from being it, such as insects that flock to the plants and birds that feast on the bugs. As a result of this cyclical interaction with its primary food source and countless creatures, Meganium has come to hold an almost mythological standing in the Pokemon kingdom.Meganium, by Brett. -- source link
