I have never seen a more narratively supported blatant example of just how something was based on FALSE INFORMATION, that the Jedi were lied about and misinterpreted. Hux, A VILLAIN OF THE STORY, RECOUNTING WHAT BRENDOL HUX (WHO IS EVEN MORE OF A VILLAIN) TOLD HIM, is literally quoting the story Palpatine told about the Jedi, how they were baby thieves, how they tried to seize control of the Senate, how the clones turned to stop this coup, that they deserved their fate because genocide of an entire culture is totally cool.And that we, the audience, know that is full of lies, that that is not the truth, that this is what Palpatine did–he murdered them and spun this story about how they seized children instead of adopting them into their culture by permission and because Force-sensitive children were literally in danger of being kidnapped if they weren’t protected, how they were attempting a coup instead of trying to stop a madman who would go on to rule the galaxy through oppression and slavery, how the clones ~saw the truth~ and went to stop them instead of that they were literally mind-controlled into shooting their generals in the back in a way that had nothing to do with the supposed-coup.And then Palpatine scrubbed the entire galaxy of pretty much any mention of them, so no one could dispute his claims. No mention of them on the HoloNet, their art and texts stolen and hidden or destroyed, their Temple violated and turned into the Imperial Palace.The framing of what Hux is saying only shows exactly how context is stripped away and lies are put in place instead. I didn’t think Fry had it in him, but holy shit that’s one of the most accurate portrayals of just how the Jedi were misinterpreted and that the narrative of the story is showing us that absolutely blatantly. -- source link
