They said girls specifically who had sex before marriage were paper cups to be thrown away, and pure girls were like beautiful teacups. The only girl in the class who stood up for us was shut down. I stayed in a relationship where I was physically, verbally, and sexually abused as a teen because I was afraid of being considered a slut if I left the relationship, and when I finally did and came forward, I was called a whore and a slut and dirty. Don’t pretend like abstinence education works or is healthy in any way. It is specifically aimed at shaming young girls who don’t conform to the idea that their body is an item already owned by a husband they haven’t yet met. -- source link
