It’s a weird word. Like moose. The pluralizing S is never on the word “jedi” but usually on the “knights” or “padawans” or “younglings”.So honestly, imo, my hooooopeful opinion, it could refer to both of them in a plural sense.(Also Rey is not yet a Jedi. Merely a Force sensitive trainee/padawan.)yeah i def thought it was referring to luke bc rey is a padawanI assumed the same :DThough this comic is still hillarious <3And maybe Luke will indeed be the last Jedi, and Rey instead will mix Jedi beliefs with the beliefs of other force users, creating a new tradition of force users. So she won’t be a Jedi, she just will share some of their teachings and beliefs. That is a good theory as well right there :Dvo-kopen’s thoughts are shared by others…and, honestly, I think that they know that the fans couldn’t handle loosing the last two main characters from the original trilogy this year.It would be TOO MUCHI am actually really happy with the title because it goes nicely with my little fan theory, which is basically that the Jedi tried for millions of years or whatever to fight the dark side, but they were doing it the wrong way, pushing against an opposing dogma with the exact same pressure to sustain the other, darker side. The Jedi were wrong. Their actions, their philosophies, the way they took children and trained them and shaped them was wrong, and the way they had their hands in government and politics and the military and then pretended they could be neutral about it was wrong… and the way to heal the damage is to integrate the darkness and the light. Luke is the last Jedi but that doesn’t mean he’s the last Force user who can do good in the galaxy. If Anakin had been allowed to bring his mother with him, if he had been allowed to be a full and complete human being who can form connections and can love and see that love and attachment makes people stronger, not weaker or more vulnerable… would that have brought balance to the force? Balance wasn’t ever going to come in the form of ten billion Jedi forcing their way into every corner of the galaxy, balance comes from integration of opposites. So I hope that this title goes with my theory that Rey will come to Luke and ask for training, and he’ll reject her–not because she isn’t capable and qualified, but because he knows full well that training another Jedi isn’t the answer. -- source link
