pseudolegendaries:Pokemon Sun & Moon to be set in Hawaii?Following the trailer and some posts I’ve seen circulating about possible settings for Gen 7, I decided to make a post about where I think Sun&Moon could be set in! Firstly, the ‘woodpecker’ like pokemon we saw in the Sun/Moon announcement video looks an awful lot like the Red-Crested Cardinal, pictured above, which was introduced to Hawaii in 1930 and is now commonly found there! There’s also the fact that Hawaii is nicknamed ‘the rainbow state’, which was the codename of a rumoured pokemon game, Pokemon Rainbow (which could have been a cover for sun & moon). Then there’s also the fact that there is a rainbow in one of the truck’s plate code in the trailer, which is something that Hawaiian plate codes also have:As well, one of the trees we saw near the hotel in the trailer has a very strange trunk! It looks like the trunk of a palm tree, trees that found all over Hawaii! It makes sense that the top most part of the tree is cut out because for one, seeing it’s leaves would be a dead giveaway (and game freak likes to keep things a surprise) and secondly, palm trees can get really tall! Another clue is that in the video we saw a yellow fire truck, featuring Blastoise:And which part of the world has yellow fire trucks? HAWAII!And what I think is also very important to consider is that the strange souvenir found in XY looks very similar to Hawaiian tikis:As a bonus, I think it’s important to mention that Hawaii is a very popular tourist destination and we saw a hotel in the trailer too! I think there’s some great evidence to support the theory that the region for gen 7 will be based on Hawaii and I’m super excited to get another water region! Although IGN might be too happy (lol). Also, I’d like to thank Smach-Chu for letting me use her artwork of the bird pokemon. Thanks Sabina! -- source link
