MCU Ladies Week[Day 1-Favourite Character]- Melinda MayI’ve been in love with Melinda May since her very first scene on Agents of SHIELD, although it was not until the second episode, in which we begin to see more of May’s skills, that she started to become my favourite character, although I didn’t know it then. It was actually during my re-watch of season 1, before meeting Ming-Na Wen at Perth Supanova in 2014, that I fully realised May had become my favourite character. Not just on this show, but out of all the TV shows and movies I’ve seen, and all the books I’ve read.There’s something special about May, and whilst I agree with many others that there are often occasions wherein the show does not do May justice, we see hints of it in every episode, but especially in those more focused on her. During this season, in Wake Up, we see May fight to escape, but we also see the shock and disappointment when she realises that this world is not real. And yet, she never gives up. In fact, not only does she not give up, she takes courage in the fact that she has followed this course before, and every time she fights, she gets closer. To May, this is proof that she is winning, it motivates her to keep fighting. Later in this episode, May is placed inside her own Framework, a world in which she doesn’t have to let the girl go, because she saves her. I cannot even imagine how much pain May will go through when she wakes up for real, and realises that she didn’t actually save Katya. May will be going through the pain of Bahrain all over again. Again and again, May suffers through so much pain, but she keeps fighting for everyone. May is my favourite character of all time because of all of this and more. May is a fighter, who keeps on going, always working for the best of everyone else. I can’t wait to see more from her throughout the rest of this season, and to see how she escapes from Radcliffe. -- source link
