I’ve been meaning to write a headcanon about this actually! So it’s clear that Phoenix talks a lot about his admiration and trust for his courtroom rival, Miles. But I also feel like Miles talks a lot about Phoenix too. WAAAAY more than just the “oh yeah I know him” though. I headcanon that he will go out of his way to defend Phoenix if he overhears anyone in the PO talking about him. He’d most definitely call him a genius when nobody’s around. Of course, Miles would never say it to Phoenix’s face cause he doesn’t want to boost his ego. But, maybe sometimes he’ll give praise that catches Phoenix off guard and he finds it very amusing. here’s the inspiration for this comic from the anime but it’s a scene taken directly from the game so I have no reason to believe this is anything but true -- source link
