catandcrown:i spent 3/4s of today doing office work, despite it being my day off :/ by the time it came to doing anything for myself, i had literally no spirit or energy left to do it. So i drew Vespiquen, shoddily. Just to get some ideas down. Originally, i was going for the standard idea of making its body shape the comb-like shape, but i wanted to push it a bit, seeing as one of the charaters im designing will have one.soo the idea is that the one on the left is a newly evolved combee female, so a fair bit smaller than her majesty on the right. Seeing as they keep a whole colony of combee around them, I went with the idea that they create an incredibly strong and sturdy nest on her abdomen, that builds up into this network of hexagon-like funnels and tubes, within which the combee live. I just thought it would be cool if the more powerful the queen, the bigger her ‘dress’ as there are more Combee with her :)Just some very very rough ideas, but i like it otherwise. -- source link
