secret-jedi: Reasons why Kylo will most likely and should be seen shirtless in TLJ (yes I am indeed answering the most important questions obviously, not) Shoulder injury- the scarring of the face is obviously an important part of showing his progression as a character, a scar Rey gave him after his act of patricide, it marks a pivotal point in his journey but there is also another major injury he sustains, his shoulder, it feels somewhat unnecessary perhaps? Why have the scarring if you aren’t going to show it? There were rumours a while back that there will be a scene with Kylo about his new facial scar (I imagine it will probably be a moment of reflection and show his emotional aftermath of TFA) but if he is recovering he will mostly likely be shirtless in order to get a good look at his shoulder scar as well as the scarring from his uncle Chewie’s blaster shot Parallels with Finn?- we will also most likely be seeing a shirtless scene with John boyega (yay the more the merrier), there were those rumours of him being taken out of a “bubble bacta suit” and he will probably be somewhat nude like Luke was in the bacta tank and we will see the saber slash across his back healed. In TFA there were parallels and links made between the three main characters so its reasonable to assume that type of storytelling will continue into TLJ, having two “scar” scenes with Kylo and Finn would be a great opportunity to show how Finn on one hand is healed and stronger than ever as opposed to Kylo who will likely still be just as broken as he was as he was at the end of TFA (at least initially, he is in the process of rebuilding himself after being torn apart, mentally and physically, during the last film) He got buuufff- (the flimsiest of the arguments) anyone who has been watching the latest season of Girls (which started filming just after Adam filmed TLJ) will know Adam had bulked up considerably, as seen above, there has to be a reason for the extra muscle surely? Humanising- Adam Driver himself said Kylo’s humanity will be further explored in TLJ, after he was shown as a “monster” in the first act of the trilogy now we delve even deeper into who he is as a real person not a masked mysterious bad guy, quite compelling stuff right? Well obviously they will show this through his actions, backstory , and progression in the next film but on a visual level showing Kylo as vulnerable as possible after he was as covered as you could probably get in TFA would help humanise him in the eyes of the audience (thank you for reading my shirtless Kylo speculation, I know it’s not important but I find it more bloody interesting than most of the snoke speculation out there) This is the most relevant meta anyone ever wrote.
