gffa:*SMACKS HAND DOWN ON THE DESK* THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN YELLING ABOUT. That mental state absolutely affects your connection to the Force! Luke’s anger, fear, and confusion about everything that just happened on Cloud City is making it so that he can’t focus and, as Lando says, “You and the Force ain’t on friendly terms right now.”Because this is what’s just happened with Luke:He’s devastated by the reveal of Vader as his father, he’s confused and angry that Yoda and Obi-Wan didn’t tell him and Obi-Wan’s not there to ask him about it.Luke’s reactions are entirely understandable and yet really hammer home the point of how him going to Cloud City was a disaster and that Yoda and Obi-Wan were right that he wasn’t ready to hear the truth yet, and that we see he’s struggling with the dark side here. All that storm of emotional conflict needs to be faced and worked through, that was the point of him going into the cave on Dagobah, that’s the whole point of everything the Jedi teach, that you have to train yourself, discipline yourself, work through this mental miasma, face your demons and what haunts you, face your fears and work through them, because otherwise this is what you get.You and the Force aren’t on friendly terms until you do. -- source link
