It’s been 7 years since I last read a John Green book for the first time. I missed the feeling of happiness and satisfaction his previous books gave me. Of course, rereads still give you that feeling but it’s totally different when you read a book for the first time. A friend of mine gave me this book as a gift for Christmas 2017 and it took me more than a year to read it. I was so excited to finally have this book in my arms because I have been waiting for a new book from John but when I finally had it, I was so hesitant to read it because what if it isn’t as good as the others? Yes, I was too crazy to judge this book even before reading it. It’s just that “Looking for Alaska” is definitely my absolute all-time favorite and “The Fault In Our Stars” is also on my favorites list, together with John’s other books. That was my excuse for refusing to read this book, I didn’t want to disappoint myself. But finally, I decided to go for it and I’m glad I did because it was absolutely beautiful. I don’t even know why I doubted John in the first place. I was just full-on sobbing after finishing the book. You know when your heart aches so much but still you have that little hope inside you. And I was reminded of that David Archuleta song, A Little Goes A Long Way (which has great lyrics BTW). John Green once again proved to me why he is one of my favorite authors, his books just have a different effect on me. This book was amazing, truly. The ending is a bit heartbreaking but it is also perfect as it is. I love you @johngreenwritesbooks, can’t wait for the next one. #TurtlesAllTheWayDown https://www.instagram.com/p/BvrEBD6FuWA/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17uso3qja2xz7 -- source link
