Ivory statuette of KhufuThis is the only surviving representation so far known of King Khufu, builder of the Great Pyramid. Khufu is identifiable here due to his Horus name being preserved on the piece.He sits on a throne, wearing the Red Crown of Lower Egypt, and a short kilt. In his right hand, over his chest, he holds a flail, while his left hand rests upon his left knee.From the Temple of Osiris at Abydos. Ivory, height: 7.5 cm.
